    Part-Time Florida Plumbing Contractor Exam Instructor / Tutor

     

    Description:

    We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Florida Plumbing Contractor Exam Instructor / Tutor to teach virtual classes and provide tutoring to students preparing for the Florida Certified Plumbing Contractor General Trade Knowledge exam. This role includes teaching one live virtual class per month (3–4 hours via Zoom, held in the evening or on a Saturday), conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions via Zoom, and teaching a bi-monthly Isometric Drawing classes (either in-person or virtual).

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Teach one live virtual class per month (3–4 hours via Zoom) covering key exam content, Florida code navigation, and test-taking strategies.

    • Teach a bi-monthly Isometric Drawing classes (virtual or in-person), focusing on diagram interpretation and drawing techniques as required by the exam.

    • Conduct individual tutoring sessions via Zoom to provide personalized instruction and support.

    • Guide students in using approved reference books effectively during open-book exams.

    • Explain and reinforce exam topics including drainage systems, venting, water distribution, natural and medical gas piping, industrial piping, and plumbing math.

    • Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve student comprehension and confidence.

    • Track attendance and monitor student progress in both group and individual settings.

    • Stay current on Florida DBPR exam content and licensing requirements to ensure accurate instruction.

    • Collaborate with curriculum development staff to enhance course materials and resources.

     

    Requirements:

    • Must currently hold or have previously held a Florida Certified Plumbing Contractor license.

    • In-depth knowledge of plumbing code, system design and sizing, isometric drawings, and exam-related math.

    • Experience teaching or mentoring others in the plumbing trade.

    • Strong communication and instructional skills suited to both group and one-on-one settings.

    • Comfortable using Zoom and digital tools for remote instruction.

    • Availability for evening or Saturday classes, as well as flexible tutoring session scheduling.

    • Prior teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.

    Part-Time Air Conditioning / HVAC / Mechanical Tutor

     

    Description:

    We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Air Conditioning and Mechanical Tutor / Instructor to provide part-time virtual tutoring via Zoom for contractor licensing exams in primarily Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This role involves delivering one-on-one or small group sessions, preparing students for open-book licensing exams, and offering step-by-step guidance on load calculation methods.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct virtual tutoring sessions for HVAC contractor licensing exams.

    • Provide individualized support on complex HVAC concepts, guiding students on how to effectively navigate reference books and exam materials.

    • Offer personalized feedback to enhance students’ understanding and exam readiness.

    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. 

    • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to develop effective, up-to-date class materials aligned with each state's exam content.

    • Stay current on licensing and/or exam requirements and adjust tutoring strategies as needed.

    • Provide additional assistance to students as needed, including answering questions outside of scheduled tutoring sessions.

     

    Requirements:

    • HVAC-related contractor license currently held or previously obtained.

    • Current or previous experience with load calculations and HVAC system design.

    • Strong understanding of residential and commercial load calculation methods (Manual J and N).

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt instruction for different learning styles.

    • Ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual, one-on-one setting.

    • Flexible availability for tutoring sessions during evenings and/or weekends, as needed.

    • Previous experience in HVAC education or tutoring is a plus.
