Full-Time Online Construction Contractor Licensing Exam Instructor / Tutor

 

Job Description Overview:

We are in search of a dynamic and highly qualified instructor to teach virtual classes via Zoom, aimed at preparing candidates for the state contractor business and law exam and various trade exams in Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This full-time role entails leading interactive online sessions and delivering clear, comprehensive instruction on topics relevant to the construction industry licensing exams. The instructor will play a pivotal role in guiding students to successfully navigate the exam's open-book format, aiding them in effectively utilizing the resources available to pass the exam. Additionally, the instructor will be responsible for regularly updating course content to reflect changes in exam requirements. Private tutoring sessions will also be conducted on an as-needed basis to provide further support to students in their exam preparation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver live virtual classes on relevant business, law, and construction topics for state contractor licensing exams.
  • Develop and present effective and up-to-date class materials that meet the standards set by each state.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their understanding of key concepts.
  • Stay abreast of changes in licensing requirements and examination procedures to ensure course content is current.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum development team to identify areas for improvement and continuously update course content.
  • Provide additional assistance to students as needed, including individual tutoring and answering questions outside of scheduled classes.
  • Meet established deadlines and maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress. 

 

Requirements:

  • Contractor license currently held or previously obtained.
  • In-depth knowledge of business, finance, law and construction concepts relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and adapt course content to meet the needs of different learning styles.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students, fostering a collaborative and participatory learning environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Availability to teach 3-4-hour classes in evenings and/or Saturdays, along with flexibility for conducting private tutoring sessions on an as-needed basis. 
  • Previous experience as an instructor in the construction field, a plus.  
  • Passed the NASCLA Accredited Commercial General Building Contractor exam, a plus.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English, oral and written, a plus.
