Mississippi Alarm Systems and Equipment Contractor Exam Book Package

Mississippi Alarm Systems and Equipment Contractor Book Package

The Mississippi Alarm Systems and Equipment Contractor Book Package from 1 Exam Prep provides the officially required reference materials for candidates preparing for the Mississippi Alarm Systems and Equipment Contractor License Exam, regulated by the Mississippi State Board of Contractors (MSBOC). This complete book set covers electrical fundamentals, fire alarm signaling, low-voltage wiring, system installation, troubleshooting, and servicing standards applicable to alarm and life-safety systems.

All references are approved for open-book testing and are intended to support exam sections on alarm system design, fire signaling requirements, electrical code compliance, materials handling, and installation procedures relevant to alarm systems projects. These publications ensure compliance with state-specific construction codes and nationally recognized fire and electrical standards applicable to licensed contractors performing alarm, security, and signaling work in Mississippi. The package aligns with 1 Exam Prep’s structured curriculum and state licensing requirements for alarm systems and equipment contractors.

This package contains the following books for the Mississippi Alarm Systems and Equipment Contractor open-book exam with PSI Services LLC:

  • National Electrical Code (NEC), 2020

  • NFPA 72 – National Fire Alarm Code, 2019

  • Fire Alarm Signaling Systems Handbook, 4th Edition (2010)

  • Low Voltage Wiring: Security / Fire Alarm Systems (2002)

Candidates are responsible for bringing their own references to the examination center. Reference materials may be highlighted, underlined, and/or indexed prior to the examination session. However, references may not be written in. Any candidate caught writing in the references during the examination will have the references confiscated and will be reported to the department.

Furthermore, candidates are not permitted to bring in any additional papers (loose or attached) with their approved references. Any additional materials will be removed from the references and confiscated. References may be tabbed/indexed with permanent tabs only. Temporary tabs, such as Post-It notes, are not allowed and must be removed from the reference before the exam will begin.
